Welcome to Surrey Canoe Club
Our mission is to promote sport by breaking down barriers to participation and supporting community engagement.
Surrey Canoe Club is an inclusive charitable organisation which has won many awards. The projects and activities have been featured in international organisation websites such as the International Paralympic Committee.
Surrey Canoe Club was founded in 2010. The club is well known for the tailor-made, innovative and creative design of its projects to address individual requirements and assist each beneficiary to achieve their goal and lead a happier more fulfilled life.
Surrey Canoe Club delivers free of charge activities, courses, coaching and leadership qualifications to the disabled and the youth not in education, employment or training. The projects are participant led and they are based on timings, code of conduct, ages, learning experiences, abilities, ethnicity and diversity, resources and any additional learner needs. The learning objectives are specific, measurable, agreed, realistic and timed. The projects deliver agreed measurable outcomes.
Surrey Canoe Club runs a free of charge Mentoring Scheme and community projects to tackle social isolation of the elderly in the local community. The Club works in partnership with other voluntary and charity organisations and supports outdoor education in college for students with learning difficulties and dyslexia.
Surrey Canoe Club projects have been supported by the generosity of members paying fees and attending courses, the Mayor of London, Sport England, London Sport, Active Surrey, Spelthorne Borough Council, Capital Radio, Bupa, Heathrow Community Trust, Community Foundation for Surrey, Freemasons Grant Charity, the Downlands Trust and individual donations.
Surrey Canoe Club is a member of Sported and London Youth.
